Event Planning

I work with nonprofits, social enterprises, and businesses to host charitable events that engage current and prospective supporters. From designing the concept of the event to targeting specific attendee audiences to coordinating vendors to gaining earned media coverage through public relations (PR) to evaluating event metrics, I partner with clients from beginning to end during the event planning process.

Jenni Hargrove has been a volunteer for FiftyForward in a number of capacities. When she first joined our Communications Committee she was eager to leave meetings with assignments and always completed them efficiently and effectively. She has since taken on a critical role with our agency by hosting one of our key fundraisers. Jenni brought enthusiasm, energy and fresh ideas resulting in new participants and exposure for our brand and the older adults we serve. She continues to demonstrate leadership skills and a passion for serving others in the nonprofit community.

Virtual Event Example

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I began helping many nonprofits host virtual events in lieu of their annual in-person events. I worked with one nonprofit in particular to host their first ever virtual food drive, in which donors were asked to donate an amount of money based on the foods they would like to purchase for the nonprofit’s food pantry. I worked with the organization to secure a matching donor to help entice donors to give with a sense of urgency, helped the organization’s leaders create and use a corporate sponsorship pitch deck, and created the graphics and messaging used throughout the campaign to help the nonprofit raise over $20,000.

in-person Event example

While working as TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Nashville's Marketing Director from 2015-2017, I created and executed the local Movers for Moms charity drive benefiting Safe Haven Family Shelter. Throughout the drive, the Nashville community is encouraged to donate everyday necessities for homeless families to get their new lives started. In 2017, I organized the first annual Movers for Moms Festival, which had free admission to allow families of all economic backgrounds to attend. The festival included 23 vendors and 30 different activities. Some activities were ticketed, and donations were encouraged throughout the event. In 2017, the Movers for Moms drive collected over 9,000 in-kind and monetary donations.
